  • How Do You Measure a Marriage?

This month Jay and I will celebrate our anniversary… so here’s the question…

How do you measure a marriage?

    10… number of years married

70… number of pounds gained (between the 2 of us!)

45… number of  pounds lost (we’ll get there!!)

6… number of homes lived in (the dump we lived in for 3 months in TN when we first got married… though we still made it pretty, our cute apartment  on Tinkerhill Cove, 2  teeny, tiny apartments on the college campus, our house in Houston, TX,  and our current home in Texarkana)

    19… number of states visited

6… number of years spent trying, praying, waiting for baby

1 … number of beautiful, exciting, emotional adoption experiences

1…  number of  handsome and crazy sons

6…  number of surgeries (2 for Jamie, 4 for Micah, 0 for Jay!)

8… number of Thanksgiving turkeys roasted

1… number of tattoos aquired (just Jay, not Jamie!)

1,000… number of different hairstyles/colors Jamie has sported

120… number of  “12 days of Christmas presents” given to Jamie from Jay

2… number of church appointments (Houston Temple, TX, and Texarkana TX/ARK)

8… number of computers gone through (we’re hard on ‘em, huh?)

5…  number of romantic get-a-ways (and one more coming up in 2 weeks!)

2… number of camping trips (never again!!!)

152 million… number of arguments about Jay leaving his huge size 14 shoes in the middle of the floor…

4… number of wedding rings Jamie has had (don’t worry, sweetie, I’m sticking with this one!)

7… number of broken bones/ injuries requiring medical attention (man!)

11… number of weddings we’ve been in since our own

5… number of pets owned (dog Daisy in ’98, dog Dandy from ’01-’05, goldfish Dorothy since Christmas ’06, goldfish Flipper owned for 3 weeks in ’07, goldfish Flipper 2.0 (AKA “the replacement” ) alive and kicking for 6 days in ’07 – Dorothy killed them both!

1400… number of dollars spent at The Melting Pot (good thing we finally got that Fondue pot)

8… number of trips to the beach

3… number of ballets Jamie has dragged Jay to

33… number of professional ball games attended (go astros!)

Countless… number of kisses, dances, laughs, meals cooked together, tears shed, movies watched, silly fights, funny emails, long distant phone calls, rooms redecorated, hugs, long car trips, winks across the room, secrets shared, heartaches survived, and unforgettable moments created.

10 years of marriage… and I still love you so much.  Happy anniversary!

Okay... here goes.  I have an overwhelming amount of pics to share from the summer, so I'm starting with the most recent event, and I'll post some more in a day or so.

  • bored out of my mind...

I am sitting on my bed at Family Camp just waiting for Micah to wake up from his nap (but feeling very blessed that he took one!).  I was about to lose my mind when I realized the computer was here.  Guilt free internet time...yay!!!!  We are having a pretty good time at camp so far... well, as good as you can with a two-year-old, a 6 foot 5 husband, and your inlaws all in one teeny tiny room with you!

We are working with the teens this week, and we have the program tonight.  We are doing Deal or No Deal with prizes ranging from a penny to an IPOD Nano.  It should be fun.  Well, I'm off to surf the net.  Sweet dreams, Micah!

  • I'm still alive!

I have not posted in a very long time.  Jay took our laptop to TYI, and then left the power cord there!  Someone told him they'd send it to him asap, but he's been home for 2 weeks and nothing so far.  We were just going to buy a new one, but they are 90 bucks!  So, I'm using a jacked-up donated one right now.  I can't use it for pictures, and it constantly kicks me off line, so you'll all have to wait to snoop into my life. (I know, it's killing you, right?)

Anyway, there is a Hills marathon on to keep me busy tonight... that's right... I'm cool like that.
